Course Overview

Respiratory Fit Testing Workshop prepares designated workplace fit testers to conduct respirator fit testing as part of a respiratory protection program. The training focuses on correct preparation, documentation, and the practical steps required to complete fit tests reliably and consistently.

This course is available in multiple options depending on how you want to complete training and whether you need equipment. Classroom training is $315.00 + GST and is best for participants who want hands on instruction, live demonstrations, and coached practice in person. Virtual training is $500.00 + GST and is designed for organizations that need remote delivery while still covering the fit testing process and documentation requirements. A 3M Fit Testing Kit is available for purchase for $475.00 + GST for organizations that need the equipment to conduct fit testing in-house after training.

What You Will Learn

Explain fit testing purpose, limitations, and common failure causes
Prepare the testing environment and participant prerequisites (no facial hair in seal area, etc., per program rules)
Select appropriate respirator sizes/models for testing
Conduct qualitative fit testing steps as taught in the workshop
Document results and maintain records to support a respiratory protection program
Identify when retesting is required and how to address fit issues

Attend and complete the workshop with practical requirements and any knowledge checks

Certification

Participants receive a certificate of completion. Certificate validity: 3 years
