First Aid Instructor Recertification

Cost:  $200.00

Course will be taught in a two part virtual classroom. Students must have a computer with internet connection and a web cam.

Prerequisites: 

• Hold a current Canadian Red Cross Instructor certificate
• Have taught a minimum of three Canadian Red Cross First Aid Program courses during the three-year certification period. One course must have been a standard first aid (recertification courses also qualify).

This is the Virtual Red Cross Instructor Recertification Course. Instructors are required to recertify each of their certificates separately (First Aid Instructor (CORE), Completion of the First Aid Instructor HUB also recertifies Teaching Experience Supervisor (TES) and Youth Leader certification if applicable.

There are 2 steps to recertify your First Aid & CPR Instructor Certification:

1. Virtually attend the HUB Instructor Recertification Training (4 hours)
2. Virtually attend the Discipline Specific Instructor Recertification for FAI (4 hours)

COURSE DETAILS

Pre-requisites: 

• Valid (non expired) Red Cross First Aid & CPR Instructor (FAI). If you are expired please call the head office for assistance.
• You must have taught a minimum of 3 Canadian Red Cross courses. ex: Standard First Aid (Full or Recert, or Emergency First Aid) within your certification period. Course taught must be at the highest level of certification within each discipline

Duration:  4 hours per component, 8 hours total for both (Hub and Discipline Specific)

Cost: $200.00 + GST = $210.00 (For Both components)

Instructors are required to recertify each of their certificates separately (First Aid Instructor (CORE), Professional Responder Instructor, Wilderness & Remote First Aid Instructor, etc.). One course must have been taught in each  discipline that they wish to recertify (course taught must be at the highest level of certification within each discipline). This approach respects the different skill sets of each discipline by completing either the Discipline Specific Skill Component or a HUB component or both. Prices vary depending on your requirements. Completion of the First Aid Instructor HUB also recertifies Teaching Experience Supervisor (TES) and Youth Leader certification if applicable.

Course Specifics

• This course does not require in-class enrollment as it is delivered virtually within your environment.
• Based on your learning needs you may require a 4-hour Instructor Hub session or,
• A 4-hour Discipline-specific session or,
• Both.
• You will need to provide proof of current completion of any of these components to be exempted from taking a full course (Both).

Course Details

• Time:  8AM to 5PM
• Duration:  4 hours per component (Hub and Discipline Specific)
• Cost: $200.00 + GST = $262.50  (For Both components: Price also includes a Digital Recertification workbook)
  • $100.00 + GST = $157.50 for either HUB or Discipline Specific but not both
