Course Overview

Confined Space - RESCUE ONLY Upgrade is a focused training course for people who already hold current confined space entry and monitor certification and need to add rescue scope. The course covers rescue-related concepts and practical fundamentals without repeating the full entry and monitor course.

This in-person course covers rescue hazards, rescue roles and communication, retrieval concepts, patient handling principles, equipment checks, and post-rescue response basics. Practical components include rescue fundamentals practice in a controlled training environment.

The course supports employer programs where people may be assigned rescue support duties under site-specific procedures.

Identify rescue hazards and understand why planned rescue is critical
Recognize the risks of unplanned or poorly equipped rescue attempts
Understand rescue team roles and communication methods
Practice retrieval concepts, patient handling, and equipment checks
Understand coordination between rescue and entry teams
Apply atmospheric monitoring and ventilation considerations during rescue planning
Understand the importance of documented rescue plans and site-specific procedures

Completion Requirements

To receive certification, participants must: Attend and participate in all course components Successfully complete the practical and knowledge assessments

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants receive a Rescue Upgrade Certificate of Completion.

This course is for people who:

Hold current confined space entry and monitor certification and need rescue scope
Are assigned rescue support, drill, or standby duties
Are expanding their confined space rescue competency
Important Notes

Important Notes

This course is designed to upgrade eligible Confined Space Entry/Monitor training to include Level II with Rescue. Participants must be prepared to take part in practical rescue-related course components. Government-issued photo identification may be required at sign-in. Participants must be adequately prepared to participate in the language of instruction for required course elements.
