Course Overview
Detection and Control of Flammable Substances is an Energy Safety Canada certified course for workers who may work in or near environments where flammable gases or vapours are present, or who use gas monitoring equipment as part of their duties.
This in-person course combines classroom theory with practical exercises to help participants recognize flammable substance hazards, understand explosive ranges (LEL and UEL), apply safe work precautions, and use catalytic detection equipment.
Participants also complete practical skills using catalytic detection equipment in simulated workplace scenarios. The course follows Energy Safety Canada certification requirements.

To receive certification, participants must: Attend and participate in all course components Pass the written exam with a minimum score of 70% Successfully demonstrate the required practical skills components
Certification
